An ad touts Adlerthka buckthorn bark glycerine elixirs claiming rapid relief from constipation sour stomach and gas. The testimonial by A F Bruhl Druggist asserts fastest action of any product sold and links to a claim of preventing appendicitis.
The Confederate Veterans Mountain Regiment Brigade plans a reunion July 31 to August 3 in San Saba tied to the county fair. An executive committee and the fair association frame invitations and arrangements for veterans visitors and speeches.
A 1909 discussion via Mr. Higginae and others examines rising food costs and farm economics. A Texas dairyman describes high land rents, feed prices, and by product pricing for butter and eggs, blaming land prices and credit charges for inflated groceries. The piece cites egg and butter production data, notes delivery and charge accounts add costs, and questions whether dairy can be profitable on low-land farms.

The Southern Sweet Potato Growers association with members in Alabama Mississippi Louisiana and Texas starts a publicity drive in the North to double canned yam output. Percy Noodles recalls a quip from the capitalist's daughter about marriage after the war if all the men are not killed.
