Prospacta for the development of the Robinson State Park appeared slim after a conference with Col. Ro Whiteaker Chief Engineer of the State Parks Board in Austin Tuesday. Whiteaker said federal funds have paid for past parks and the state has little time to set park requirements before development. Under the federal plan no park smaller than five hundred acres will be advanced first. currently seventy two state parks are in limbo.

Legislature ends bid to halt Buchanan Dam project
In Texas the opponents of the Buchanan Dam project concede defeat as the Moore bill is not revived. Senator Weaver Moore of Houston withdrew and Llano delegates attended a hearing in Austin. W. H. Roberts learned late yesterday that his uncle Captain Dan Roberts had passed away at his Austin home at four o'clock Wednesday afternoon. A renowned Texas Ranger, he earned a fearless, just reputation in Llano and the region. The funeral will be held in Austin this afternoon.

Texas Parks Expansion Struggles With Funding and Delays
The State Parks Board reports Texas has many parks, including Robinson State Park as one of the smallest. Since 1943 the state has spent nearly $9.96 million on parks, with only about $2,500, funded by the legislature, leaving most as a deficiency. From July 1983 to January 1, 1885 the federal government spent $3.07 million on Texas parks, but current finances hinder further appropriation.
Local Baptist Church Plans New Llano Building
The Llano Baptist church members voted Sunday to erect a new church on a forty by seventy foot lot with basement and fourteen Sunday school rooms. A building committee chaired by Rev W P Ray will oversee the project, with final finish to be stucco or granite. Construction is expected soon and will add to Llano’s town.

Tragic Wagon Accident Claims Three Year Old Son
Leonardo Cordova, three, son of Pete Cordona, was killed when a hay wagon driven by his father ran over him near the John Lewis ranch five miles west of town. The accident occurred as the father called his wife to move the children from the area. Leonardo apparently was in or near the wagon’s path when it rolled forward to the barn.

Cornhog Program 5 Being Well Renewed in Llano County
Llano county hog producers sign up for the Government Cornhog program with strong turnout. In two days 150 contracts were signed in Precinct No.1, nearing last year’s total, with further precincts to sign. Llano County Tax Collections Lead Past Years
Llano County tax collections this year exceed the prior three years. About sixty five percent of State and County taxes were paid before February first from the 1934 rolls. The county sent 24633.94 to the State Treasury with 19381.40 unpaid as of early February. Delinquent tax collection rose after penalties and interest were removed by legislation, with little prospect of further incentives. Car registrations began the month with few new plates issued.

Raymond Winkel Wins County Medal in 4-H Livestock Feeder
Raymond Winkel president of the Liano High School 4-H Club won the county medal for best livestock feeder. He received a gold fired medal from Thomas BR Wilson. Winkel fed three calves last year two polled Hereford calves from J. W. Winkel's herd and one from Roy Willoughby's ranch. Feeding ran from June 24, 1933 to February 24, 1934.
