Llano Conservation Plan Expanded for Mesquite Pasture
Llano County residents Christian and Dan Sagebiel revised their conservation plan with the Llano Soil and Water Conservation District. They cleared about 150 acres of mesquite, plan cross fencing, future division into four pastures, and rest periods to improve grasses and root systems. They use cropland for temporary grazing crops, plant sudangrass and maygrazer in summer to ease rangeland load, and urge seedbed prep for new grasses like weeping love grass and coastal bermuda.
