Native Mexican lion killed near Driftwood after hogs raid
A genuine Mexican lion was killed about three miles east of Driftwood last week by Mr. Hall. It measured nearly seven feet, weighed 110 pounds, and had a large head. A fore foot was a club from a trap. Hall shot it four times from a shotgun to end the creature. The carcass was sent to San Antonio. Three calves had gone missing in the area, blamed on the lion. The Blanco Courier notes a similar report in the Austin American.
