The News prints the first set of recipes from Mrs. Gertrude Burbank’s cooking class. It includes Mixed Sizzling Grill and Gratefully described dishes such as Hungarian Goulash Orange Pastry Fruit Hors d oeuvres and Grape Fruit Salad with detailed ingredient lists and preparation steps.
Dr. L. R. Noyes said a veterinarian will next week continue Bangs disease testing for cattle abortion. Due to high demand tests are limited to counties with strong interest. Twenty seven reactors already found in Llano county. condemned animals shipped to Fort Worth. After two clean tests herds receive certificates. If reactors appear tests repeat every 60 to 90 days until two disease free tests. Llano ranchers should continue testing until free of disease. For information call county agent office.
Local Ratliff family gathering at the Methodist church basement celebrated Thanksgiving with a turkey dinner and chrysanthemums. Guests included Roy Guess of Beaumont and his son Roy Hays Guess along with many relatives from the area.
Siniaro, long ill at home, was moved to Kerrville hospital by a Home Furni ture company ambulance last Saturday. He is reported greatly improved. Mr and Mrs Q O Henderson of College Station visited Indiano with relatives this weekend. Miss Wanda O Donnell of the University of Texas visited homefolks. Elmo Bowman formerly of Llano now in Houston was on a business visit. Mr and Mrs James Doyle and Dr Knotte of Houston spent last weekend with Mrs A T Brun. Mr and Mrs Marvin McDougel visited San Antonio last Wednesday.

Dr Arthur Melanis former Llano resident died at his Enid home after a pneumonia attack. A 33 year old physician, he studied at Galveston and Tulane and practiced in Oklahoma City before moving to Enid. He is survived by his wife a son Harry his mother and two sisters and two brothers.
Mrs J D Dorbandt longtime Lampasas resident died at her home Sunday after a six year illness. She was wife of Dr J D Dorbandt and formerly lived in Caldwell Texas before moving to Lampasas. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Lampasas under Episcopal church auspices. A fuller obituary will appear next week.
The Presbyterian Church hosts Sunday School at 9 45 a m and a sermon at 11 a m Albert Ruman will preach.
Charles Gable, famed naturalist and writer, hunted in Llano using a bow and steel arrows during Thanksgiving. He failed to shoot a deer within 50 to 90 yards but scored against armadillos with precise steel arrows. He plans a longer Llano stay next year and previously served as government entomologist during a grasshopper plague, directing that fight from Llano.
Sunday evening at the church will present a tolerant discussion about what records show regarding the repeal process. Pastor El Bludworthy invites all to reflect on whether they are able to be concerned and where they stand on wet versus dry positions.
The Baptist church ladies plan a Mexican supper in the church basement this Friday evening at o'clock to raise funds for the church.

Rita Davis returned to Houston after visiting her mother Mrs J W Davis. Harry Oliver of Fort Worth visited in the home of her mother Mrs HW A Thidtzer during Thanksgiving holidays. Xaviering Payes granddaughter of Olea Tayves is reported improving after illness.
The Missionary society of the Christian church will meet Friday at home of Mrs. YD T Harrison with Mrs. Johnnie Atchison as leader. Airs Sam Roberts and children of El Dorado were Thanksgiving visitors in the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs 7 W S Clair and other relatives. The Llano Lions Club will form a Christmas tree project on courthouse square to benefit underprivileged children in Llano County. Last year over 65 children benefited through community cooperation. S. E. Gillespie leads the tree committee. Scouts aided last year. a business district decorating contest is sponsored with a prize.
The County Court issued five marriage licenses in November. On November 21 Martin Banks married Carrie Maude Huggins and M. Martin wed Lorene Nichola, with E A Walker and Mildred Lola McHonesley also noted. On November 25 Lester Durham joined Juanita Garrett and on November 27 Wallis Taylor paired with Hazel Mae Martin.
