Will E. Simpson a Llano merchant dies aged 66 after being found unresponsive in his store room. An inquest ruled death natural. Funeral held Tuesday with Rev. Bludworth officiating. Survived by sister Mrs D Jones of Houston, pallbearers named.
C L Taylor of Llano attended the funeral of his aunt Mrs Mary E Taylor who died at 85 at her Bertram home Sunday. Funeral services were held at Bear Creek cemetery at 2 pm Monday. Survivors include two daughters Mrs White of Austin and Mrs White of Bertram and two sons Q C Taylor of Austin and Volney W Taylor of Brownsville.
Valley Spring school patrons express gratitude for outside assistance in the construction of a new school building set to begin next Monday. Superintendent R M Bolt credits Llano and others including C R Stolz of Premier Granite Quarries and Henry Osbourn for their unselfish help to start the project.
A county-wide meeting of farmers and ranchmen will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p m at the Llano courthouse to elect County committee men for the 1928 soil conservation program. County Agent D D Steele urges broad attendance from all sections. Outside speakers will discuss the upcoming year’s program. Miss Agnes Westen Douglas Bustin and Dolingie Mae Braglie of Bertram were guests of the Milam Barnetts this weekend.

Game Warden D W Williams warns of a new trapping law opening fur bearing season December 1. Trappers must obtain a $2 license and dealers face $5 first or $25 second license penalties. It is illegal to buy furs from unlicensed traders with fines from 25 to 200 dollars and possible 12 month license revocation.
A burglar entered the W. H. Todd grocery through a rear window Monday night and stole about six dollars. Local officers, aided by a state highway patrolman, searched for fingerprints but found none as the thief wore gloves.
Federal State Market News reports a active cattle sale in San Antonio with top hogs at 7.00 and most light calves steady to weak. Cattle mostly steady to uneven with low cutters and feeders, goats and sheep steady to weak. Mr and Mrs D E Bishop of Spur Texas visited relatives in Liano last week. Bishop returned Sunday.
An annual Llano county agricultural show and poultry exhibit opens Friday afternoon in the Coco Cula building. The event runs to 10 PM with local talent, the Girls of the Golden West, and cowboy music. A 44H Club electric fence demonstration and a baby show with a nurse and health talk are featured.
State patrol official R M Hammett warned that the new chauffeur license law will be enforced in Llano County. Delivery drivers employed by local merchants must qualify, with the patrol aiming for a fair application and urging merchants to ensure regular delivery personnel hold the proper chauffeur licenses.
Eighteen Llano County boys with County Agent D D Steele and adult advisers visited Gatesville on Tuesday to select pigs for a 4-H feeding project. Top pigs were purchased including Caroe Jersey and Hampshire breeds, with 4-H members from Llano Castell Valley Spring and Lone Grove taking part.
