Brief notices report San Saba leaders pressing for a new hospital. The issue will be reviewed by the City Council and Commission Court, with coordination planned through the district WPA in the coming weeks.
Kerr County commissioners adopt a 1936 budget of about 103 591 with a county wide levy cut to 75 cents per hundred and reductions in Kerrville Ingram Hunt road district 331 3 percent and Center Point road district 25 percent. The sinking fund levies drop to 1 cent and 25 cents respectively and the ad valorem rate falls from 80 to 75 cents. Elmo Wilson son of W W Wilson of Seagraves Ranch recovers after being bitten by a black widow spider while working for J C Rubie Construction on the New Braunfels to Boerne highway. he was treated in New Braunfels and seriously ill for a week.
John D. Smith died Friday evening in Rocksprings after five gunshot wounds. Roscoe Morris, a special ranger, surrendered and posted 5000 bond. The two men had prior trouble on July 4 but no daytime dispute before the fatal shooting. Smith is the first white man killed by shooting in Edwards County in 20 years. The body went to Junction for burial in Junction Cemetery. W M Keen suffers injuries from an infuriated bull, knocked unconscious and then pawed by the animal until he escaped with help from his dog.
