200 Year Anniversary Of St Johns Compass Church
Historians and churchmen from Eastern Pennsylvania join in marking the 200th founding of St Johns Episcopal Church at Compass near the county line. The original log church built in 1729, later replaced and rebuilt in stone, sits beside the cemetery with burials dating to 1781. The event draws visitors to the village as authorities note the historic grave markers and carved stone decorations.
