Turning The Spotlight on Major League Baseball
The Tuadelphia Athletics failed to take the set from Bucky Farris' champions during the past week at Sitibe Park and the Capitol Crees their second American League pennant. The Narrie forces performed in brilliant style before Labor Day followers, grabbing the double bill while the A's evened the series on the two succeeding days. The Senators will have another advantage on the Macks in that they have the schedule on their home grounds. The veteran staff of pitchers, who many fans thought were through with Amelias's great pastime, remained cool and collected while the aprons gave support on the debuts enabling Washington to practically sew on the 1920 laurels. Athletics, were hampered by injuries. The men Hunter will build his team around include Earl Reist, Russ and Bob Longenecker, and Bill Fasnacht. Fasnacht was on the line in their first scrimmage but Hunter isn't sure whether he will stay there or go in the backfield. Bob Longenecker is almost a certainty at center as are Reist and Russ Longenecker in the back field.
