Farm Advice Fragments for Meadow, Eggs, Hedging and Lawn Mix
The notes advise leaving an old meadow for seed production, top dressing with high nitrogen fertilizer, and applying manure to land for corn. Eggs should be kept cool at about 55 degrees to avoid odors. Hedge trimming is best done in early September with sharp shears. A spring to fall mulch for vegetables preserves moisture and reduces cultivation. A low lawn seed mix is 16 parts Kentucky bluegrass 4 red top 2 white clover with about 2 to 5 pounds per 1000 square feet.
