Work Gain Here Closes Relief Store
The Lititz relief commissary in the Post Office building will close after Saturday due to lack of patronage. Operated by the Lititz Community Chest under the County Poor Board, the state will cover food bills with orders handled by local merchants and country stores in Wirgabeth and War Wiel townships. The needy list has steadily declined since July, with about 23 people on the list last week, and the closing signals local employment growth.
