Trip to Southern End of County Adventure
A group from Lancaster County toured Quarryville and surrounding sights last Thursday. They visited a Revolutionary War tablet, Fulton’s home, a long-idle chrome mine once used in wartime, and nearby magnesium deposits near the Maryland line. The trip also featured scenic overlooks above Octararo Creek and the Bluebell of Scotland thriving at a ridge viewpoint.

Recordings Summary Reflecting Seasonal Harvest and Town Life
The notes describe summer lingering with early fall cues, leaves dropping, and September near. Townsfolk discuss tobacco storage, wine grape demand, canning peaches, and surplus tomatoes becoming catsup. Elections stir little excitement while livestock, cottages, and fairs loom.
