Lititz Record declares weekly Friday issue schedule
The Lititz Record notes it goes to press regularly every Thursday afternoon and cannot guarantee late matter after Wednesday noon. Communications must include the writer name and address, as a guarantee of good faith, even if not for publication.
Welcome Sign Promotes Independent Voting Trends
A 1884 reflection stresses liberal discussion across religion, society, science, and politics. It notes growing voter independence, loyalty to parties remains strong, and argues for open choice. It criticizes Irish campaign tactics and foresees minor defections if third candidates arise, with Butler as a questionable factor.

Lititz and Vicinity Portrait of Samuel Grosh by 1850
Philadelphia Sept 9 1884 I correct an error about Henry Buch in my last note and praise the late Samuel Grosh a Lititz leader who died in 1850. Grosh ran the Moravian store with a strict orderly system near the square, served in early state politics, supported Whig era campaigns, and left a substantial estate to friends and religious charitable causes.

Quiet citizen amid temperance era sales and notices
A compact notice column recounts a Des Moines report on cash sales rising after prohibition, with money shifting to merchants and home-building. It lists a temperance union meeting, vendor notices, and a long classified-style sale and goods ads including baking soda, spices, seeds, bird food, and shoes. The piece preserves period tone with many named places and vendors.
