P P and L Announces Further Electric Rate Reduction
The Pennsylvania Power and Light Company lowers annual bills by 1.5 million dollars effective after October 1. The new simplified schedule removes the room charge, cuts the first block rate by one cent, sets a minimum $1 monthly charge with 11 kWh included, and adds a 46 kWh second block at 6 1/2 cents, a 70 kWh third block at 2 cents, plus 1.14 cents for excess. Commercial rates drop to 7 cents with an optional demand meter for loads over 5 kW.
