A Defense Day program is scheduled for Friday September 12 1924 at 6 30 P M. The event will be held at the band stand on the square with a rain plan in the pavilion at the Springs Grounds. The program includes prayer an address by Hon Joseph B Wissler and a concert by the Lititz Band.

Augustus Stiffel 75 former president of the Safe Factory who moved to Lititz from Philadelphia about two years ago died yesterday morning at his Philadelphia home after a stroke. He was born in Millersville and left a wife and many Lancaster area siblings. Funeral arrangements not announced.

Mrs. Elizabeth Van Vleck Dies in Lititz Home at 75
Mrs Elizabeth Theresa Van Vleck died at her East Main street home in Lititz aged 75 years eight months after a period of illness following a fall. Born in New York City she lived in New Jersey before moving to Lititz with foster father Abram Van Vleck. She was married in 1881 to Prof Frederick Van Vleck, now deceased, and was a Moravian church member. Survived by daughter Belle Pfantz of Lititz, funeral at the late home Saturday at 2 PM with interment in Moravian cemetery officiated by Rev E S Crosland.

Miller Couple on Fourteen Hundred Mile Auto Trip

Choir members attend church corn roast in basement
Thirty members of the Lutheran church choir enjoyed a corn supper in the church basement on Tuesday evening. The event was moved from Snavely's bungalow due to unfavorable weather. Lititz Fire Company Festival Moves to Saturday
The Lititz Fire Company will hold its annual festival at the town hall this Saturday afternoon and evening. Because of conflicting dates the event was postponed from June. 35 Piece Band Coming to Lititz
The Elizabethville Band a 35 member ensemble performs in Lititz on Saturday Sept 18. It is billed as the largest and best band in Dauphin County with vocal solos and quartets.
