Scourge Has Upset Town In Lititz Epidemic News
Physicians report the epidemic is slightly decreasing and a ghastly quietness sits over Lititz. Many sick have recovered enough to be outdoors though still weakened. Weather and lower temperatures are noted as helpful. Ten children of Mr and Mrs Jane Royney near Writs morling house are ill with influenza. Trolley service runs on a two hour schedule due to staff shortages and light traffic. The local health board urges home isolation, especially where deaths occurred. At the Eby shoe factory seventeen of forty five girls were working, while Kinport cigar factory workers are also affected. Nurses including Mig Sarah Jenkins and Mrs J EK Charles assist at homes and hospitals.

Influenza Claims Victims in Lititz Camp
The town reports several deaths from influenza and complications, including Samuel Seaber a veteran and former postmaster of Liths, Henry Wagaman a shoe repairman, and Thomas Addison Wilson a Lititz resident. Seaber served in the Civil War and was active in local G A R affairs. Wagaman left a wife Esther Souders and eight children. Wilson was a longtime employee of the ideal Chocolate Company with three children. Funerals were conducted at Moravian Cemetery and local churches.
Soldier's Death From Influenza During War Service at Camp Meade
George KE Sehnerer, 27, died in Camp Meade Maryland from influenza while in the Utilities Detachment. He lived on North Cedar Street, was a Fritz Moravian Church member, and is survived by his parents Madi and Mary B. Scherer and a brother Homer serving in France and a sister Maple at home.

Lt Steinmoels died at Gensval Hospital Sundry afternoon aged thirty years ten months and eighteen days. He lay in Milport Wearwick township. He was unmarried and employed in a shoe factory. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon with services at Kissel Hill Fatheran Church and interment in the cemetery.

William Waldo Mercer aged 34 of Lititz died after illness and probable poisoning following influenza. A native of Delaware County Indiana, he worked as master mechanic for Ideal Cocoa and Chocolate Co. since moving to Lititz from Muncie. He is survived by wife Philea Rhoton and son Ollin Eugene, plus parents and siblings. Funeral services were held in Lititz and Muncie with interment at Smider Cemetery.
