The Insurance Agent and the Dutch Man
A Dutch house owner insured his two story abode for eight thousand dollars though its value was far less. After a fire the insurer offered six thousand, which he accepted. Later the same agent proposed life insurance on the man or his wife, urging a four thousand dollar policy if the wife died. The Dutchman objected, saying the wife was only worth about one thousand, and the agent offered a bigger policy or better wire. He paid out six thousand and the matter ended.
