Local Hunters Report Good Bags
State Game Commission estimated over 60 000 hunters in Pennsylvania during opening days with the season described as among the finest in recent history. The opening week saw higher fatal accidents and injuries, blamed largely on careless handling of guns, while wildlife was plentiful and few county incidents were reported. Numerous hunters reported multiple bagged rabbits and ring necks, with several individuals taking four to twelve animals on opening day.
