Opening Hunt Season Opens With 7000 Licensed Hunters In County
The 1924 hunting season begins as more than 7,000 county residents hold licenses. Rabbits, ringneck pheasants, squirrels, and quail are plentiful despite last spring's cold and snow aided by organized winter feeding. Bag limits include wild turkeys one per day, ringnecked pheasants two per day, ruffed grouse two, and various limits for rabbits and other game with a November through December season for many species. Hunters urged to respect farmers' property and follow laws on transporting small game, with officers reporting many illegal claims of ownership and untruthful statements by some non residents.
