Entomologists at State College urge following spray practices due to varying spring weather. White grubs may be numerous this year and affect crops planted in old sod like potatoes. Later planting and crop rotation are advised to avoid peak grub growth. Recommendations also include keeping eggs clean by using nesting shavings and changing straw regularly.
Mr and Mrs Edwin Longenec ker and family visited near White Oak with the Hershey and McKinney parties over the weekend. Numerous callers including Long, Kreider, Mease, Shreiner, Swartz, Harnish, Frey, Miller and others visited households from Lancaster Lititz Lampeter and East Petersburg.
