Peach Tree Twig Still Used in Locating Water

The old method of foretelling water with a peach tree twig is still used by many well diggers. John Bingley of this place has dug many wells but has never been able to use the twig himself. He notes it bends for others and sometimes twists when someone else uses it. The phenomenon lacks a scientific explanation, yet practitioners claim high success in locating water. The borough of Ephrata recently used the twig with reported success and much comment. A special Warwick Grange meeting is planned for May 9 at Rothsville High School to discuss Pomona Grange matters on May 11. Rothsville has acquired a three chemical tank engine for fire fighting, signaling progress. Elizabeth Gurrell will perform at the Rothsville High School auditorium on May 13, hosted by St. Paul’s Lutheran Ladies’ Aid Society.
