The article argues against a third term for Grant, citing 1872-75 Pennsylvania and national trends. It notes Pennsylvania’s 1874 opposition, shifts in seven key states, and a 1875 House resolution reaffirming Washington’s two-term precedent to warn Republicans to avoid reviving a risky third term movement.
