Warwick House sale draws crowd despite mud and poor weather
The fourteenth annual Warwick House public sale drew a large crowd despite muddy roads and chilly weather. Auctioneers H. H. Snavely and H. T. Hacker sold furniture, poultry, livestock, and boots, with 711 sales totaling 2385.83 dollars. Prizes included buggy harness and gold coins. The Oneida Community now runs the former Mast Manufacturing mouse and rat trap factory, reporting a 20 percent first-quarter gain and orders from France for 350 gross traps and 150 gross rat traps.

Lititz Drain Dispute in Equity Court
In Lancaster Equity Court on Tuesday morning the Borough of Lititz sues George S. Bueh and Henry R. Gibbel over a water drain on South Broad Street. The borough says the drain is an old natural water course and seeks an injunction to prevent obstruction. The defendants claim the drain was created in 1908 by the borough and that they closed it to protect their property. they deny it is an established channel. The judge reserved decision after continued argument.

Longtime Lititz physician Dr Peter J Roebuck died at 3 am after a brief pneumonia illness. He was 72 years old and had practiced in various towns including Derry Church and Lititz and founded Farmers National Bank of Lititz. He served in the Union Army and was active in medical societies and Republican politics. Survived by Emma J Roebuck and several siblings, funeral services planned for Sunday at 3 pm with burial in Palmyra.

Aaron G. Zartman of Manheim died after two operations for a left lung abscess at St Joseph's hospital Lancaster. He aged 27 and worked as a hostler at the Sammy House in Manheim.
