County Handles Big Sum of Money During Last Year
County Controller Caroline S. Eby explains that Lancaster County’s 1930 operations doubled the prior year due to higher money handling, not a higher tax rate. The increase stems from county share in the Columbia inter-county bridge project, plus more highway and bridge spending and welfare work, while fees and fines rose only modestly to 106,165.72.
