Rats Cleaning Crew Promises Effective Rodent Cleanup
Cleaned out the Rats Nicholas & Co had three representatives in town last week exterminating rats at several business places. They are experts in the use of poison bait and at places where they worked not a single rat has been seen once. The company sends representatives out in all parts of the country using their own formula of poison. They instruct how to use it for future trouble as there is a system in making a successful cleanup of rodents.
Brethren Bible School Opens at Church of the Brethren
The Brethren Bible School will open Monday June 20 at the Church of the Brethren, running through July 1 from 830 to 11 AM except Saturdays. About 100 children aged 4 to 14 are invited. Directors include head director and music director Mrs Daniel Heilman and secretary Mrs Donner Brenner. Teachers and helpers cover beginner through intermediate levels with names listed. This marks the fifth year of the Brethren Bible School.

Word has been received of the death of Dr. Victor Lehner of Madison Wisconsin a son of Dr and Mrs L H Lehner of Mechanicsburg He was born in Iowa grew up in Mechanicsburg and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania He was a leading chemist serving as War Department consultant and authored many chemical books He headed a Chemical Department at the University of Wisconsin for years His death followed exposure to gasses from selenium during years of experimentation He leaves a widow and two sons George an artist and Samuel a chemist now doing research at the University of Berlin He was a Mason and a notable figure in Lititz His mother Mrs Sue Keller Burnett Lehner formerly of near Lititz and his grandparents once lived in Lititz The Record noted a past report of him producing gold from tellerite rock but the process gasses proved fatal.
