Feast of Roses service at Manheim marks year’s rite
On June 12 1913 Manheim held its Feast of Roses at Zion Lutheran church the annual red rose rental paid to the Steigel heirs. The memorial service featured Rev J F Knittle Rev J E Harms Rev Dr A Myers and Rev Dr A R Steck with Miss Katharine Lefevre Miss Minnie Rutgers and Miss Annie L Boyer contributing music readings and prayers. Donovan Company Lancaster advertised a June offer gifting a Donovan sewing machine with purchases over 200. Colonial Theatre Lancaster continued four act Keith vaudeville and three reels with low prices and new acts like Prince Flore anticipated next week.

Correspondents report a near Keystone Hotel festival set for Saturday evening June 14 with Beck's Concert band providing music. Numerous local families visited others over the weekend and church and school events are planned including Children's Day at the Lutheran Church on June 15 and the Evangelical church program in the evening.
