Manure Boosts Yields In Crop Rotations
Agricultural studies show manure provides greater value when paired with crop rotation. At West Virginia, 12 percent tons yearly for 15 years raised profits by 40 dollars per acre annually, about 3.12 per ton. Ohio tests with eight tons per acre in a five year corn wheat oats clover timothy cycle yielded 4.69 per ton. Continuous grain cropping did not sustain gains.
