Pennsylvania Amends Vehicle Code on Headlight Beams
The Pennsylvania Vehicle Code requires drivers with dual or multiple beam headlights to switch to the lower or passing beam when within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle. Upper beams may be used otherwise to illuminate at least 350 feet ahead. Single beam cars remain largely unaffected. Failure to lower beams when passing others carries a fine of $10 and possible five days imprisonment.
