Tenth annual meeting of Litiz Saving Fund and Building Assoc
The Litiz Saving Fund and Building Association met at the Litiz Springs Hotel on Monday evening January 6. Old officers were reelected with little public interest. The ninth annual secretary’s report shows 462 shares, 436 taken, 35 to loan, share value $188.29, assets $87,386.62. Many shares paid in 1878, monthly receipts reduced, board hopes to close by mid year, possibly needing one month or seven more months of payments. The association has been largely successful with small losses. fines have nearly paid expenses. Talks of a new association under the old charter have so far attracted little interest. Tobacco trade notes: little activity, no old tobacco sales, new tobacco demand not brisk, county prices unsatisfactory, buyers seeking first class goods. P. Baumi, attorney at law, in town Saturdays and Mondays for legal business.
