Fire Hazard Lecture At Lancaster County Schools
Lt. Col. E. M. Ranek chaired a Fire Prevention talk at Lecta High School for the Lancaster County Firemen's Association. He cited that only 50 of 387 county schools have fire drills and 35 have fire escapes, with 80 percent violating inward opening doors and lacking buckets of sand or water. He described numerous hazards and outlined fixes to prevent weekly school fires, with attendees receiving a three page outline after the lecture.
