The first thousand permanent tired automobile license tags for 915 were sent out last week by the automobile division of the State Highway Department. The prematic tired automobile licenses will be issued this week where advance notice has been given and later the motorcycle tags will be migrated.
Wno H Longenecker a prominent local auto dealer plus several sub-dealers left yesterday for New York and expect to return to Gay with a batch of new Chevrolet cars of various types. Five cars will be brought back for local enthusiasts and potential buyers to inspect.
Aba Moravian Chireh Council meets to approve allowing the railroad to build a new passenger depot at the existing site while using the current building as a freight station. A rumor places the freight depot opposite the trap factory. A follow up meeting is slated for January.

Mrs Susan J Grube of Lititz died Sunday afternoon at her North Broad street home of general debility aged 79 years 11 months and 14 days She was widow of Samuel Grube and mother of Cuvier and Wilson Grube and Katie She was a longtime member of the Lititz Moravian Church and the Woman's Missionary and Ladies Mite Societies Funeral held Wednesday at 3 PM at home and 2:30 PM at church with Moravian Cemetery IS burial
Israel Bomberger Erb a well known Clay township resident died at his home Monday morning from pneumonia brought on by influenza at age 30. He was the son of Benj H and Lizzie Tirh married with one child Roy. The funeral was held at 10 this morning with private services at his home and burial at Blammer Creek Mennonite meeting house.
Dr Andrew B Gloninger eminent surgeon died suddenly of heart trouble in Lebanon at age unavailable in text He served as chief surgeon at Good Samaritan Hospital Lyon founded Lebanon Sanatorium and remained in that role His war service included the Fourth Pennsylvania Infantry medical staff He leaves a wife two children and a sister Mrs Jordan of Philadelphia His lineage includes noted Lebanon physicians and revolutionary era ancestor Mrs Elizabeth Breneman widow of John Breneman died at Salunga aged seven he was a Mennonite Church member and survived by several siblings Funeral services held from her home and at the Mennonite Church Landisville burial followed
Mrs Samuel Heiser widow died Saturday in Akron after a lingering illness at ninety one. She left children Henrietta Miller Kate Eisenberger Lydia Flory Henry Samuel and others. Funeral Wednesday in Akron church with interment in nearby cemetery. Jacob Roth former Rothsville resident died aged seventy eight with funeral from Heading and burial in Charles Lang Cemetery. He was brother of Jeremiah Roth and Eliza Longenecker.
Harry E Nall son of Jonas Nait from near Ephrata died at his Philadelphia home Friday morning after a weeklong illness from pneumonia. He was thirty four and survived by his wife Miss Alice Duuler and children Hillsie Harold and others at home. CONTINUE ON PAGE 4
The Tatber-Rittenvere factory completed government orders for army shirts. In a year they produced one and a half million shirts of wood and cotton material, plus shirts for regular trade. If strung on a line, they would stretch from here to the western border of Ohio.

The structure is in five parts joined by 35 000 rivets and bolts and will take until year end to finish. A note reports John Walters of Vrance presumed dead after seven years abroad. He reportedly traveled across the United States four times and visited the Philippines and Japan. He is said to have a wife in the west.
Private HdWwich Reidenbaugh writes to Mr and Mrs Elmer Reidenbaugh of Nemisville that he and his brother Howard met in France while serving in the artillery. Ted heard a passerby ask about him and soon found Howard, who had been home on furlough last June. Howard enlisted in June 1917 and Ted had gone to Camp Lee Virginia for training.
A World War I field letter dated November 10 1918 from Pvt ED L Wissler 19th Platoon 56 Engrs describes wartime life in dugouts near Verdun. He notes scarce paper joyfully hearing bells at armistice day while hoping for an end to shelling and reporting letters from Lititz Records.
The letters recount Groff roaming Northern and Central France then Paris, noting a warm reception and relief at avoiding mud. He reports landing, checking his pack, and losing personal effects in transit. A second letter, written after ice, mentions being in Paria and wild weather.
