Christmas program and church women events announced
The Mothers’ Club and the Women’s Missionary Society host a candle light Christmas program tomorrow at 7 30 in the church basement for all women. The Sunbeam Class meets Tuesday at Mrs Elwood Keath’s Front Street home for a Christmas party and small gifts. Thirty members attended a W C T U birthday party Monday in the Sunday School building with twelve tables and as many birthday months. Also an Esther based illustrated lecture is planned at Trinity Lutheran Colebrook by Rev Dr Stanley Billheimer for Wednesday evening. A gardening note suggests using sodium chlorate to kill perennial weeds at 10 to 12 pounds per 1000 square feet, costing about eight cents per pound.

Fifteen County Fires Reported Last Month
Fire Chief Paul Z Knier of Manheim told the Lancaster County Firemen Association meeting in Strasburg that fifteen fires occurred in the county last month. John H Steffy was elected the new member and moving pictures of Safe Harbor and Holtwood plants were shown by Pennsylvania Power and Light. The next meeting is scheduled for December 18.
