Chautauqua a Success in Lititz Week highlights
The Lititz Chautauqua week featured Mrs. Ongawa in a superb performance with strong support from her husband and magician Germain who wowed audiences with seemingly airborne tricks. Miss Hamilton and the Hackett Florence trio drew large crowds with song and violin, and Rabbi J Leonard Levy’s address Marching On impressed all with patriotism and uplifting ideas. Wednesday saw an auto mishap near Springs Hotel and band day with Vietor's Italian band delivering classical music and Italian songs. The McKinnie Operatic company and the Strollers quartet were named as banner and closing acts amid daily Junior Chautauqua activities and plans for a return next year.

Denver case ties Abe to garage robbery and getaway
Squire Silas E Bard of Denver claims a sure case against Abe. Buzzard, charged with complicity in the Lines garage robbery, saw tires carried off by a rail from a fence. A posse pursued two men in an automobile after the tires. Bard cites a witness who places Abe and Nasser in Reading Tuesday night, returning around 10 and then to a restaurant. Ream, arrested Friday as an accomplice, says Nusser and his wife drove Abe’s daughter near Denver Monday to aid the visit. Abe and Nasser were seen near Denver Monday evening, suggesting the tires were to be hidden for an auto getaway Tuesday.
