Diehm Leads Fight Against Objectionable Fishing License Bill
Hon G G Diehm, representative for the district, campaigned against a proposed fishing license measure defeated in the House by 85 yeas to 93 nays. Diehm, praised by supporters, opposed any form of fishing tax. The bill would have required all male citizens over sixteen to obtain a resident license, with private land farmers exempted. The Lancaster county delegation largely opposed the bill along with neighboring counties. A newer version may be introduced later in the term.
