19 Year Old Boy Admits Murder in Chicago Case
Chicago police held 19 year old Daniel Patrick Hurley Jr of St. Louis after he admitted beating 28 year old Shiry Stone to death with his fists. Stone’s nearly nude body was found on a cigar store stairs. Hurley, a merchant marine warrant officer, said he beat her at a vacant lot after an evening at a tavern. He claimed self defense and described using fists.

Gillaspie Pleads Guilty on 10 Larceny Charges
Floyd Ruel Gillaspie pleaded guilty to 10 larceny counts before Judge Karl Parker Vosloh in Greene County Court Bloomfield on the eve of his trial. He was arrested after the April robbery at the Eagles hall. accomplice Joe Curtis is in prison serving time. The judge dismissed second degree burglary charges and sentenced Gillaspie to one year at the Indiana State Penal Farm with credit for days already served.
