A crossing accident at the Third Street crossing on the Southern railroad in Mt Carmel Illinois left Omar Carrel aged 28 of Rockport Indiana dead and his brother William Carrel and Gertrude Williams hurt but not seriously.
In South Bend Indiana the Tiernan Poulin paternity case ends after eight days. Judge C L Ducomb will issue a decision to determine if Harry Poulin should be sent to the St Joseph circuit court as the probable father of Mrs John Tiernan's third child or be vindicated. An unexpected development involved Notre Dame student Patrick Charles Doran challenging Poulin alibi by asserting Poulin attended a Notre Dame glee club concert on February 16 1921 with a complimentary ticket ensuring his presence at the event.
