Surprise Birthday Dinner for Jasonville Couple

A surprise dinner at Cynthia Reed's home in Jasonville honored her birthday and her brother George Taylor. Relatives and friends filled two tables with ample food and gifts. Attendees included the Reed, Bedwell, Phipps, Smith, Saucerman, Collins, Reed, Bodie, Wolfe, Thompson, Whipps, Cline, and other local residents. music and conviviality followed. Nearby residents and visitors were noted for various local activities during the week.

Louis A Allen 78 Dies After Heart Condition

Louis A. Allen of Washington died at his daughter's home from heart leakage. He was 78 and funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. His body will be taken to his former home near Washington for burial. Other local items note a Union high school class outing, a church conference return, and residents visiting relatives in nearby towns.

Miss Vera Hein motored to Wear Baden and French Lick with Miss Donna Spencer last Sunday. Charles Alkire of Bloomington and Frank Alkire of Linton visited their mother Mrs. David Alkire Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Goodrich and family of Bloomington visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Fleming last Sunday. Miss Iva Hardesty visited relatives at Bicknell last weekend. Mrs. Fred Lambright improving slowly after illness. Mrs. Kathryn Weatherwax attended the teachers institute at Linton last Saturday. Tobe Road returned from Indianapolis to attend school here. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Galager and children spent last week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Crogs. Mrs. Dan Smith visiting daughter Mrs. Elig Smith near Swite City. Robert Hugh and Wayne Turpin went to Indianapolis Tuesday. Miss Bertha Hill teaching at Clinton spent weekend at home. Jesse Figgins of Linton on business here Monday.
