Indiana deaths rise in first seven months of 1926

United Press reports Indiana records 24 384 deaths from January through July 1926, up from 22 666 in the same period 1925. Cancer led with 279 deaths, while July saw 2 791 deaths, easing the rate to 11 per thousand. Marion led counties with 395 July deaths. Births reached 5 063 in July.

The Sunday school will hold a rally day program Sunday evening starting at 7 o'clock. Regular services are Sunday school at 9 30 and preaching at 10 30, with mid week prayer on Wednesday at 7 o'clock. The public is invited to worship.

Rev. A. McCullough arrives as pastor and will lead both services tomorrow. Attendance is hoped for as the church begins under new leadership. Rev. and Mrs. Cissna have left for Indianapolis to attend the Kentucky conference and will then move to their new pastorate. The orchestra, under Bert Barnes, meets Thursday. Next Sunday promotes day with new classes and teachers as Epworth League invited. Rev. and Mrs. Cissna extend thanks for city kindness.

Rally day drives Sunday school push in October

October 3 marks rally day as the church urges immediate effort to boost Sunday school activities. Public service at 10 30 features a sermon on The Unappreciative and Un grateful Nine. Christian Endeavor at 6 30 and mission day festivities planned for October 10. Pastor E C Jaberg notes Rev Freddham’s rapid recovery from tonisill operation. Next week the pastor and Elder Hilgediek will attend Mid-West Synod sessions in Lone Tree Iowa. Quarterly congregation meeting follows Sunday service.

Evangelist Bell to Speak at Church of Christ

Louisville preacher Mr Bell of the Church of Christ will return to offer his familiar message. He has served Louisville for about twenty years, with notable church growth. Last year his sermons filled the house and drew attentive crowds at the Opera House. He begins speaking each evening at the Church of Christ starting Sunday.
