Two Escape in Homemade Plane Crash Southwest of Versailles

Robert Illcox 48 and his son Andrew 17 escaped with cuts and bruises after a forced landing five miles southwest of Versailles. The craft, en route Versailles to Madison, suffered extensive damage to propeller wings and fuselage in a soybean field after engine trouble. They were treated at a local hospital and released. Mild autumn weather with highs in the 70s to 80s and minimal rain is forecast through Friday.

Cycle guard injured by shotgun blast near Outlaws clubhouse

David Myer a 26 year old cycle guard from Monroe Minnesota suffered serious eye injuries while sitting on a porch in Indianapolis. He was posted to watch about 20 cycles outside the Outlaws clubhouse as members met inside. Investigators say thieves fired the shot when surprised to find a guard.

Indiana Cable-TV Network planned by Telesis Corp

Telesis Corp announced an Indiana cable network to serve state cable systems and a Lafayette satellite earth station to provide special programming. President Richard F. Shively said construction would begin after FCC approval in Washington.

Pay of deputies to get priority

Greene County Council pledged that deputy and dispatcher salary increases would be top priority when funds are available after a long budget meeting. Fromme Held in Isolation After Ford Shooting Attempt

Lynette Fromme, leader in absentia of the Manson cult, held on $1 million bail in Sacramento Jail isolation cell after aiming a .45 pistol at President Ford.
