October is to be Riley month in Indiana to honor James Whitcomb Riley. Indiana school authorities and the Riley Memorial association plan joint observances on Riley’s birthday October 7 and to raise funds for a Riley hospital building fund. The Riley hospital for children will be a state institution with a $125000 building fund approved by the legislature. any child in need may be admitted. Schortmeier said ten thousand Indiana children could benefit, stressing the hospital as a fitting memorial.
