Paymaster Shot by Bandits in Detroit Robbery
Paymaster Robert Jackson of Detroit Glass & Malleable Iron Co. was shot three times and likely fatally wounded by three bandits who robbed him and assistant Daniel A. Parent of 5600 dollars in two satchels. The money was later found in a box car on Michigan Central tracks after the attackers fled. Parent said the ambush was without warning. Jackson remained in hospital and was not expected to survive.
