Green Returns From Japan Visit With 25th Infantry Division

Army private Rex Green son of Mack H and Mrs Green Worthington Ind spent five days on rest and recuperation leave in Japan from Korea. A machine gunner in Company M 35th Infantry Regiment he joined the Army in 1951 arriving in Korea last March and has been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge.

Fatal Coal Mine Accident Kills Albert E. Cutts

Albert E. Cutts 48 of Sullivan rural route was fatally struck by a slate fragment at the Little Betty coal mine west of Dugger while preparing to set a mine prop. He died instantly. Found by co worker Ruel Pigg. Widow and one child survive. Funeral plans not announced.

Mrs Elizabeth Ann McBride 58 of Linton died at 4 30 pm Saturday after a week in Freeman-Greene County Hospital where she had been ill since January. Born March 3 1894 in Clay County she was daughter of James and Alice Nicholson. Survived by daughter Virginia E McBride brother Losson Nicholson and half sister Vina Bolinger. Marines Clear Case Of Linton Man After Amnesia Spell

Jesse Bedwell of Linton, 23, was nicknamed a mystery figure as Marines concluded a seven week probe found he suffered temporary amnesia in 1949. He had served in the Marine Corps 1946-47, enlisted in the Air Force in 1948, and briefly in 1950 under the alias Richard Lee Beard before later matching fingerprint records to Bedwell. The Marine Corps discharged him honorably and notified his employer, the Pennsylvania Railroad, that he will return to work.

Mrs Richardson Dies After Illness in Linton Community

Mrs. Marthena Louise Richardson, 40, lifelong Linton resident, died at 9 30 am Saturday after a year of illness. Born April 18 1912 in Stockton township she was the daughter of Squire and Avis Walters. She was married July 21 1928 to Lloyd Richardson and survived by her husband, a brother Robert Walters of Linton, an uncle and aunt Theodore Hitchison and wife, and three cousins. She was a member of the Linton First Christian church and H 12 club. She will lie in state at Anderson Poindexter Memory Chapel with services Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev C E Horton, burial in Fairview.

Fairbanks Bank Robber Arrested in $1086 Heist

Harry Harold Pat Morrison, 37, was to be arraigned today on federal bank robbery charges for the $1086 holdup of the Fairbanks People's State Bank. FBI said a U S marshal took him from Sullivan County Jail to Indianapolis for a hearing. Morrison was captured 30 minutes after two bank employees were tied up by a gunman.
