Brazil November 3 The Indiana highway commission announced a contract will be let on November 16 for the Reelsville cut off to remove the dangerous Reelsville hill and two railroad crossings between Butler schoolhouse and Reelsville. The new National road route leaves the present road at Butler schoolhouse, travels east across Walnut Creek bottoms known as Pleasant Gardens, and rejoins the current road south of the Reelsville hill.
The U S Treasury announced a $464,959,628 decline in the public debt during October. From September 10’s $23,924,108,125.06, the total fell to $23,459,148,496.59 by October 31. Officials attributed the drop to heavy redemption of government securities and the omission of usual financing on October 15.
Indianapolis, Nov 3 George W Miller was tried on indictments for robbery and grand larceny in connection with the Beech Grove State Bank robbery on September 9. A jury found him guilty of robbery after about fifteen minutes of deliberation.
