Ed Inman Enjoys Finest Season At APSU Baseball

Ed Inman star pitcher for Austin Peay State University posted a 5-2 record and led the team with a .350 batting average. He pitched 58 2/3 innings in 11 games with a 2.29 ERA, and highlighted by a two hit shutout against Wooster College. Inman also had a three hit day against Western Kentucky and was praised by coach Tom Wanderling for his role on the staff.

Miner Golf Team Tied For Eighth In Sectional

The Linton Miner golf team tied with Gerstmeyer for eighth at the sectional at Rea Park, posting a 344. Greencastle won with 318, Vincennes second with 324, while Mike Harding of Honey Creek was medalist with 75. Tom Jones of Linton tied for eighth with 78 as the team finished 11 wins, six losses and one tie under coach A M Franklin.

Samuels Returns as Purdue Offensive Back Coach

Samuels rejoined the Boilermakers as offensive backs and receivers coach, announced by athletic director Guy Mackey. Boys League games feature Larris, Legion wins on Tuesday night

Larris defeated Peoples 6 to 4 in the early Boys League game while Legion beat GE 4 to 2 in the second. Tony Crynes fanned 12 GE hitters in the first game with five hits allowed and three walks. Snow of GE struck out eight and yielded three hits. Kirk Sanders of Sarris struck out 13 with four hits allowed, and Steve Montgomery fanned seven Sarris batters while giving up two hits.

Dugger Bulldogs Fall In Tourney To Sullivan

Sullivan defeated Dugger 9 to 1 in a tournament game. Sullivan will face the Linton Miners at 11 a.m. Friday, with Shakamak and North Central at 9 a.m. and the championship at 3 p.m. Friday.
