New York May 5 U P Women in the United States personally own about 10 billion dollars in life insurance and their stake in policies held in trust by companies has risen over 400 percent since 1915 A Life Insurance Week survey shows women now account for more than ten percent of new policies this year Retirement and old age policies are especially popular among women investors The study notes earlier charges on insuring women dwindled as insurable interest became accepted and by 1915 only 8 percent of total policies were issued to women Since then the number of female investors has more than quadrupled
