Dalton Jury Disagrees in Liberty Bond Theft Case

The jury in the William Dalton theft trial, a 16 year old bank clerk, failed to reach a verdict after nearly twenty four hours of deliberation and was discharged. The case involved $772000 worth of Liberty bonds stolen from the Northern Trust company in Chicago, May 5.

John L. Lewis of the United Mine Workers declared that wage scales fixed by the United States bituminous coal commission remain in force through March 31, 1922.
