Paul Mason Dies at 70 in Indianapolis Nursing Home

Paul Mason 70, longtime Sullivan County native, died 6:30 AM Monday in Marion County Nursing Home Indianapolis after nine months illness. Born July 27, 1847, he lived in Indianapolis eight years as elevator operator. Survived by brothers Charles Mason Dugger and Will Mason Los Angeles. College Hill Plans Open House

Open house at College Hill school is scheduled Friday from 1 to 9 PM hosted by the Parent Teachers Association. Work exhibits will fill classroom displays and students will perform in a program. the PTA final meeting at 7 30 PM will elect officers for the coming year. Cases Set For Bloomfield Court Term May Through July

The Greene circuit court at Bloomfield announces the May term calendar with cases from Goodman v Goodman to Mitchell v Town of Worthington and Moore v Driscoll set across dates May 4 to July 8. The Treasure Chest weekly program in Linton has been temporarily suspended, announced by leaders. Meetings held each Wednesday afternoon in recent weeks were sponsored by local merchants and business men.

White House aide Maragon jailed for influence peddling lies

John Maragon once had access to the White House was sentenced to eight months to two years for lying to investigators of influence peddling. Federal judge Jennings Bailey gave the lightest possible sentence six days after a guilty verdict by the Senate subcommittee. The counts could have carried up to ten years each, but ran concurrently.

Indiana voters faced a busy primary with more than 600000 ballots expected as 58 candidates vied for 22 party nominations. Polls opened at 6 am local time across 4044 precincts in 92 counties while southern showers threatened little.

Linton Group Plans Time Survey On Local Time Change

Linton merchants voted to survey coal mine locals and farmers on keeping Central Standard Time or switching to Daylight Saving Time. The meeting at the public library discussed whether residents want an extra daylight hour in the morning or evening as several nearby communities already use the fast time. If a majority favors it, store hours may shift.

Clay B Moss 72 a joint senator from Clay and Park counties and former Linton resident died at 3 00 Sunday afternoon at his home northeast of Brazil after a heart attack He had left Linton twenty five years ago and served two years of a four year term in the Indiana General Assembly. Light Primary Voting Report From Greene County Townships

Greene county saw unusually light turnout in today's primary, with Stockton township showing 460 votes from 1724 registered, about 20.5 percent. Richland Cass and Washington townships reported heavier activity, while observers expected around 8,000 total votes countywide. Weather was cloudy but voting conditions were favorable.

Two Die in Indiana Head-On Crash Near Greensburg

A head on collision on Ind 46 five miles west of Greensburg killed two people. State police identified victims as Clifford C. Boys 60 Norwood Ohio and Mrs Bernice K Leven 57 Bloomington Indiana. Boys was said to be on the wrong side of the highway.
