Irish lord mayor O Callaghan to speak in Terre Haute

Local X of C members will hear Donald O Callaghan, lord mayor of Cork, speak Friday evening in Terre Haute. The event, under K of C auspices, will feature Mayor Hunter presiding and will recount Ireland’s struggle for self government amid large Irish-American crowds and prior welcome scenes in Newport News and New York.

Mrs Moore Sentenced in Sullivan Court Manslaughter Case

In Sullivan Indiana on March 30 Mrs Clara Moore pleaded guilty in the Sullivan circuit court to manslaughter for the shooting death of her husband Clarence Moore at Farmersburg on March 25. Judge Bridwell sentenced her to two to twenty one years in the state prison. She claimed self defense and showed bruises, saying she felt she deserved some punishment and will be taken to prison today.
