Laws Bar on Dell Greene county and local police are searching for Clovis Dean Klass 23 of Coal City after he used a hacksaw blade to escape the county jail in Bloomfield late Saturday night or early Sunday. He was jailed on a public indecency charge and was on parole from the Indiana State Reformatory for a March 1957 burglary. Authorities say a jail window bar was sawn and a wire key attempted in cell. efforts focus on visitors who might have supplied the blade. Klass known as Pee Wee is 5 7 tall 160 pounds with tattoos. police urge caution in apprehension.

Dan Porter 77 of Bloomfield route four died Saturday at his home after a long illness. Funeral services were held at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield with Rev F L Deckard officiating and burial in Walnut Grove cemetery. He was born July 7 1881 in Martin County, married Oct 20 1907 to Tressie May Porter, and is survived by his widow, two daughters Bonnie May Fines and Vera Booker, and two sons John Porter and Charley Porter.
