Residents affected will speak at a hearing on the proposed abandonment of passenger service on the Indianapolis Vincennes branch of the Pennsylvania railroad. Greene County sheriff Bert Caldwell announced one of two stolen cars has been recovered. A 1928 Chevrolet owned by Hershell Lynn of Linton was stolen Friday night. another car belonging to Charles Reno of Sullivan was found yesterday in Bloomfield. Police investigations continue.

In Goshen Indiana members of a Congress of Industrial Organizations local went on strike at Hetrick Manufacturing. They repulsed an AFL unit trying to enter the plant with police, sheriff deputies and special officers called to prevent clashes. About 175 workers are employed at the Goshen facility, a branch of Toledo Ohio's main factory. No injuries were reported.

Henry C Strietelmeier 84 Dies in Indianapolis Home
Henry C Strietelmeier 84 longtime Linton and Nine Mile resident died Sunday morning at his granddaughter’s home in Indianapolis after a ten week illness. Born January 22 1856 in Germany he came to the U S in 1883 and lived in the Linton area most of his life. Survived by his son Carl of Linton three grandchildren Helen Heaton Claude Stewart and Carl Strietelmeier Jr and two great grandchildren and one brother Herman Strietelmeier. The body will lie in state Tuesday at 12 30 pm to 1 30 pm at the Saron Reformed church with funeral services there burial in the German cemetery.
